Maine is the most forested state in the country, lands most of the nation's lobster, grows the potatoes and wild blueberries of Aroostook and Downeast, and has a $4.5 billion three-year MaineDOT work plan on the books. The equipment behind that is specialized: forwarders and feller bunchers, boat and fishing gear, potato harvesters, and the excavators and trucks that rebuild 235 bridges.
We place Maine files with lenders that fund forestry, marine, farm, and construction equipment in the state, new and used, from Kittery to Caribou. Options in 24 to 48 hours on a soft inquiry.

About financing in Maine
Equipment financing in Maine is arranged through Land Tech Capital's network of third-party lenders and lessors. Land Tech Capital is a New York based commercial finance broker, not a lender, and does not hold a Maine license. Your financing agreement will be with the lender or lessor, who provides any disclosures Maine law requires. No fee is charged to you before funding, and we are paid by the lender when a deal closes.
Questions we get
Do you finance used forestry equipment in Maine?
Yes. Forestry is a specialized program, and used skidders, forwarders, and feller bunchers are financed with age and hour limits that depend on the lender. Log trucks go on the truck programs.
Is logging equipment exempt from Maine sales tax?
Depreciable machinery used directly and primarily in wood harvesting is exempt with a Maine Revenue Services certificate at purchase, or by refund within 36 months. Trucks and trailers are not covered by that exemption.
Does Maine allow bonus depreciation?
No. You take 100 percent bonus on the federal return, add it back on the Maine return, and recover it over the asset's life. Section 179 is allowed at the federal limit.
