Idaho grows a third of the potatoes in the country, milks more cows than every state but two, mines silver and phosphate, cuts timber in the panhandle, and is building through one of the fastest population booms in the West around Boise. The state follows the federal Section 179 limit but adds back bonus depreciation, and its production exemption takes sales tax off farm and manufacturing equipment.

We place Idaho files with lenders that fund farm, construction, forestry, and trucking equipment across the state, from a Magic Valley dairy to a Boise excavating contractor to a Coeur d'Alene logging crew. Options in 24 to 48 hours on a soft inquiry.

About financing in Idaho

Equipment financing in Idaho is arranged through Land Tech Capital's network of third-party lenders and lessors. Land Tech Capital is a New York based commercial finance broker, not a lender, and does not hold a Idaho license. Your financing agreement will be with the lender or lessor, who provides any disclosures Idaho law requires. No fee is charged to you before funding, and we are paid by the lender when a deal closes.

Questions we get

Is a potato harvester exempt from Idaho sales tax?

Equipment used directly in farming qualifies for the production exemption. Give the dealer the exemption form at purchase.

Can a dairy time payments to milk checks?

Yes. Ag programs offer monthly, semi-annual, or annual schedules. Tell us up front and the file goes to those lenders.

Does Idaho allow bonus depreciation?

No. You take 100 percent bonus on the federal return and add it back on the Idaho return. Section 179 follows the federal limit.
